The legend of the Iron Wolf, a mythical character central to the founding of Vilnius, inspires the design of Vostok-Europe’s limited edition watch.  According to the legend, Grand Duke Gediminas had a dream after hunting in the sacred forest where the Vilnia River meets the Neris River. 

In the dream, he saw a massive Iron Wolf standing atop a hill, howling as loudly and powerfully as a hundred wolves. Upon waking, Gediminas sought the counsel of a pagan priest to interpret his dream. The priest revealed that the Iron Wolf symbolized a castle and a city that Gediminas would establish on that site. This city, Vilnius, would become Lithuania’s capital and its rulers’ dwelling. The deeds of its people would echo throughout the world. 

Vostok-Europe has crafted a limited edition watch with a design that pays homage to the city's legendary origins. This stunning timepiece is available in a limited run of 700 pieces, each hand-assembled by one of Vostok-Europe's seven watchmakers in Lithuania.  The watch features a stainless steel case with a shifted black crown and a solid bracelet adorned with rivets, evoking the style of medieval armor. 

The dial incorporates the legend of the Iron Wolf in its design, with indexes shaped like wolves' fangs and a luminous image of the Iron Wolf appearing on the crystal in the dark, guarding the Tower of Gediminas Castle at 6 o'clock. The watch's open heart at the center of the dial showcases the mechanical heart of the Iron Wolf, while the case back crystal bears the inscription "700th anniversary of Vilnius."  The Oak watch box, a nod to Lithuanian traditions, features an inner green pattern of oak leaves.
