Historic Unique Watch: Fall of the Berlin Wall Watch

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" -- US President Ronald Reagan, at the Brandenburg Gate, June 12, 1987.
A scant two years later Reagan's challenge to the leader of the Soviet Union would be met. Not by Gorbachev but by the people of East and West Germany. With hammers, chisels and even their bear hands a people separated for 28 years started to dismantle the barrier that stood between them for a generation. November 9th 1989. It is one of those moments that separates history in half … the world before and the world after. One of those indelible crossroads that define us.

There is less than a week left to save 40% off the Fall of the Berlin Wall Watch. When the watches come out in July, the retail price will be $649 for the leather version and $699 for the bracelet. The best pricing is reserved for the people who are backing our project in advance.

The lug to lug size on the watches is 60 mm on the 48 mm case and 53 mm on the 42 mm case. Several people have asked.

Every element of the Berlin Wall Signature Edition is inspired by the event it commemorates. The graffiti art, of course, which is simply the word Berlin and the wall pieces in the crown.

Beyond this, the dial under the sapphire crystal is also genuine marble to honor the Brandenburg Gate. This natural material ensures that every unit will be unique. The Brandenburg gate is where Reagan made his challenge to Gorbachev and stood as a stark landmark splitting the East and West.

The 8 and 9 on the chapter ring are reversed to honor the year 1989 and also in graffiti style. The case is plated in a distressed finish to look as though it may have come straight from the days the wall fell.

Our goal is for this watch to be accessible to anyone who wants to have this memory enshrined in timekeeping. So we are building in two case sizes. One will be 42 mm and one 48 mm to meet the tastes of both ends of the size spectrum.

We use only Swiss Superluminova brand lume with 15 individual silk screen layers. Our lume lights up the night and splits the dark

We created two dial options for you. One with the original graffiti in full color and one where it is etched into the marble, so you can go bold or go subtle.

We debated for some time the movement to use in this watch. Quartz was never even considered as we knew we wanted mechanical. We considered Swiss, Japanese and even Russian
